Latest News Of The Movie

A new development ...

OK, fans of Measle and Tinker and Iggy and all the Stubbs crew, both good and bad ...

Here's the latest on the film -

The original deal we had with Warner Bros and Robert Zemeckis fell through, because they couldn't agree how they wanted to do it.

Boo hoo ...

I thought - oh well, that's the end of that - but I was WRONG!

My brilliant agent went out and got brand new offers from two other big film studios, and we picked one called PRANA, who are big in animation. So in essence we're starting all over again, just with a different set of film makers. There is some slight evidence that the new guys know EXACTLY what they want to do with Measle And The Wrathmonk - and that is to make a Pixar type animated film, which I think will work wonderfully well.

What do you think?

Loking forwar to hearing from you!

Best wishes,

New Titles!

OUP reissues all five Measle Books!

Hi everybody,

Here's the latest news. In the UK, publishers Oxford University Press are starting a reissue of all the Measle books, this time with new titles.

Here they are - The Train Set Of Terror, The Funfair Of Fear, The Castle Of Creepiness, The Monster Of Mucus, and The Pits Of Peril.

Why the new names?

Well, while sales of the Measle books have been very good in England, my publishers think they should have been better. They did a bit of research on the subject, and found out that some readers were a bit put off by the words they didn't understand in my old titles (they probably didn't understand them because I made them all up!)

So - they asked me to think up some alternative names for the books, and I came up with these.

It's going to be an interesting experiment ... will these new titles sell better than the old ones?

Let me know what YOU think!

The Director's New Movie

"Hotel For Dogs"

OK, Measle Fans -

Go and see 'Hotel For Dogs"!

This is the first big movie directed by Thor Freudenthal, who has signed on to do Measle And The Wrathmonk. The more people who go and see this film (and I've heard it's very good!), then the more successful Thor will be, and then the greater the chance that the Measle movie will, eventually, be made ...

I'm going to see it as soon as possible!

Let me know what you think of it, OK?

Measle Movie!

I meet the director!!!!

Hi Measle Fans,

A new and exciting development in the whole Measle And The Wrathmonk Movie saga!

The other day, I met the new producer, a very nice lady called Jacky Levine. She has taken the project on board and is VERY keen about the film. So much so that she has approached a brilliant young director called Thor Freudenthal to direct it - and he has agreed, which is terrific news. He's got a new film coming out after Christmas, called Hotel For Dogs, which looks marvellous. Anyway, I had a meeting about two weeks ago with him and Jacky Levine, and we talked about all sorts of things related to the Measle stories - and Thor asked me lots of questions about Wrathmonks, which is a VERY GOOD SIGN I think ... and Jacky and Thor have all sorts of ideas for the film  ... and they're going to be working on a brand new script ... and I STILL don't know when the film will start, or finish, or be ready to be shown ... but the whole thing about having a great young director attached tyo the project (that's Hollywood language, that is!) is very exciting!!!!!!

Well, it is for me, anyway. So - keep your fingers crossed, OK?

Best wishes to you all, and have a very jolly Christmas, and a very Happy New Year!,

I did it AGAIN!

I deleted your emails!!!

Sorry, sorry, sorry - I deleted some emails - AGAIN! What happens is this: most of the letters that are redirected to me from the website aren't being recognized by my computer (don't ask me why!) and put into my SPAM bin. I check the SPAM regularly - BUT -

Sometimes my finger hits the wrong button! I hit DELETE ALL instead of READ and bang! - they've all gone. And there doesn't seem to be  a way to get deleted SPAM back - at least I can't get it back.

So, if you've written to me in the last week - PLEASE write again - and PLEASE accept my apologies!
